Time to end dual/triple mandates

A question from the floor broached the topical issue of double and triple mandates, querying how anyone can do more than one job effectively. The Panel were unanimous that this issue needed to be addressed sooner rather than later. Panel members currently working as both Councillors and MLAs noted that they would be relinquishing their Council positions at the next local elections.

What are your thoughts on politicians with dual/triple mandates? Do you think there are any instances when a dual/triple mandate can be beneficial in terms of an elected representative serving his/her constituents?
